To join our pork subscription program you will be agreeing to buy a whole or half pig which will be designated for you before the animal is butchered under our On Farm Slaughter Operation licence* and will be custom cut and wrapped for you by a local butcher. We will then store your share and deliver a box of meat monthly to a meet up location in Grande Prairie, or your doorstep in Sexsmith over the course of the next 12 months. Your monthly box will contain a variety of cuts from your animal.
Our On Farm Slaughter Operation licence requires that we pre-sell the animal while it is alive and cannot be split up amongst multiple households. The meat will then be "uninspected" and cannot be shared, given away or resold. Because of this we need you to fully commit to buying your share as we cannot sell it to anyone else once that animal has been butchered.
A deposit of $100 is required before your first delivery. This can be paid monthly leading up to the butcher date or all at once at any point before butchering. Once we pick up your meat from the butcher we will weight it and give you a monthly price that will be due by the day of delivery (a mutually agreed upon time). The base price includes all the basic cut & wrap, any curing of bacon, hams or sausages will be an additional price.
*Please note that half pigs will be inspected and processed at a local abattoir.
